What would this actually cost on Supabase or Neon?
Enter your usage once. See Supabase's real bill — plan, compute add-on, egress overage and the PITR add-on it leaves out of the sticker price — next to Neon's usage-based CU-hour bill and a flat per-project price. All math runs in your browser.
Scribase
$125/mo
- 5 projects × $25
- Backups, PITR, branching and scale-to-zero all included
- No egress charge, no compute add-on, no per-project surprise
Supabase
$125/mo
- Plan: $125 (0 free, 5 paid)
- Compute add-on: $0
- Egress overage: $0
- PITR add-on: $0
Neon — cheapest here
$86.50/mo
- Compute: $79.50 (Launch rate)
- Storage: $7
- No auth, storage API or realtime included — still needs staples on top
- No egress charge: Neon does not bill for data transfer, at any volume.
At this usage, Scribase is within range of the other two — the difference is what is included, not the sticker price.
- Flat price, no compute add-on
- No egress charge
- Backups + PITR + branching included
- Full export, any time
Estimates from each vendor's published list pricing, checked 2026-10-23 (see source rates in lib/competitor-pricing.ts). Actual invoices vary with usage patterns, regional pricing, promotions and negotiated contracts — verify current numbers on each vendor's own pricing page before budgeting against them.
Questions people ask
Why is Supabase's real bill higher than the $25 sticker?
The $25 Pro plan includes a Micro compute instance, 250GB egress, and daily backups, but not point-in-time recovery (a separate $100/mo add-on per 7-day window) — and any compute bigger than Micro ($60 Medium, $110 Large) or egress above 250GB stacks on top. An agency running several client projects also pays $25 per project past the first two free ones.
Why does Neon show $0 for egress?
Neon does not charge for data transfer at all, at any volume — the only Neon charges modeled here are compute (CU-hours) and storage (GB-month).
Are these numbers exact?
They are estimates from each vendor's own published list pricing (checked 2026-10-23), computed with the same formula for every input. Real invoices vary with usage patterns, region, promotions and negotiated contracts — verify current numbers on each vendor's own pricing page before budgeting against them.
Does this account for Supabase Team or Neon Scale?
Team ($599/mo) is modeled as a support/compliance upsell (SOC2, SSO) on the same technical limits as Pro, not a usage-driven cost, so it is not auto-selected here. Neon Scale's higher $0.222/CU-hr rate (with its 99.95% SLA) is a selectable toggle.
