The $1 card check at sign-up is credited to your balance. It is not a fee: the full $1 becomes balance you spend on your projects. Prices are in US dollars. Payments are processed by Creem, our merchant of record, which adds any sales tax or VAT at checkout.

A prepaid balance, charged daily
Each project costs $9 / 30 per day, charged once a day from your balance. Delete a project and its charges stop the next day. The console shows every daily charge per project.
Top up, or turn on auto top-up
Add funds in one click. With auto top-up on, you choose a threshold and an amount; when the balance drops below it we send you a one-click checkout for that amount in the console. Your card is not charged without that click.
Grace, then pause, never data loss
If the balance reaches zero, projects keep running for 72 hours. After that they pause: compute scales to zero and data is kept. A top-up resumes them right away.
Temporary agent projects
An agent can create a temporary project with POST /v1/temporary-projects. It is free for 72 hours; claim it to keep it, and billing starts from the claim.
Self-hosting stays free
Scribase is Apache-2.0. Run it on your own servers at no cost, or add self-host support for $2,000 a year.
Pricing questions
Is there really no project limit?
Yes. Create as many projects as you want. Each one costs $9 a month, charged daily from your balance, or put the whole organization on Unlimited for $299 a month.
How is the per-project price charged?
Daily, from a prepaid balance: $9 / 30 per project per day, prorated, and at most once per project per day. A project you delete stops costing anything from the next day.
Why ask for a card at sign-up?
To keep the platform for real projects. Sign-up takes a one-time $1 card check that is credited to your balance, and your first project gets a 7-day trial credit, so your backend is live right away.
How do I cancel?
From Billing in the console. Delete a project and its daily charge stops from the next day; switch from Unlimited back to per project the same way. There is no recurring card charge to cancel, and unused balance can be refunded when you close your account: email support@scribase.com.
Does auto top-up charge my card automatically?
No. Our payment provider cannot charge a saved card off-session for one-time payments, so auto top-up shows you a one-click checkout for your chosen amount in the console when the balance drops below your threshold. Nothing is charged until you click it.
What happens when my balance runs out?
Projects keep running for a 72-hour grace period. After that they pause: compute scales to zero and your data is kept. A top-up resumes them right away.
What does Unlimited include?
Any number of projects for $299 a month, under fair-use quotas pooled across the organization: 500 GB database, 2 TB file storage, 5 TB egress, 50,000 compute hours per month.
Do idle projects cost the full price?
A project costs the same whether it is busy or idle, and idle compute scales to zero and wakes on the next request, so you can keep unfinished projects around without them being paused.
Can I move an existing project in?
Yes. The importer keeps user ids and password hashes, moves data and files, and ends with a verification report. See /migrate for the supported sources.
